Double Weave Shawl Class
$110.00

Have you ever wanted to weave wider than your loom will allow? Well now you can! Using a second heddle, you can weave twice the width of your warp. Learn the double weave technique for the rigid heddle loom while making a beautiful winter wrap. This is a fun and easy introduction to double weave. You will need the second heddle capability on your own loom, a second matching dent reed, and 2 pick up sticks. Yarn not included. You will need 2 colors for the warp: approximately 350 yards each color, plus a total of 560 yards for the weft. The class is held over 3 days.

Winter Windows Scarf

$100 materials not included

Get loads of design bang with relatively little weaving effort with this gorgeous color and weave effect scarf. The pattern reflects on the varying light and shadows of the twilight urban landscape. Using 5 colors and a basic plain weave structure, an almost infinite number of color block combinations are achieved. The sample here is woven using bamboo fiber (lace weight) and silk (sewing thread weight) creating a smooth and soft drape. Yarn is available to purchase if needed.

The class starts on Saturday, March 21st, 10 am to 2 pm. And continues on Wednesday, March 25th 10 am to 12 noon.

Honeycomb Scarf

Honeycomb Heather

The wavy lines in a Honeycomb weave are created using pick up sticks and are the result of areas of plain weave contrasting with warp and weft ends floating over and under the fabric. Adding color interest accentuates the effect. The sample here is woven using 5 colors of Purl Soho’s Pocket Posey yarn, but any sport, fingering, or lace weight yarn will work well. Pattern is available with class.

Class starts Friday, April 17, 10 am - 2 pm. And continues on Friday April 24, 10 am - 12 noon
